Wickett & Craig Tannery (USA) 1867 Traditional Harness Leather

Founded in 1867, Wickett & Craig is a world premiere vegetable tannery, a natural eco friendly process which is labour intensive, requiring very skilled labourers. This is the traditional and time intensive process that produces deep coloured leathers of superior quality. They have been perfecting the art for more than 150 years. Quickly becoming one of Wickett's top leathers, traditional harness is known for its unique blend of waxes, oils and tallows, which are hot stuffed into the leather to bring out the true beauty of the leather and its grain. Using a technique known as jack glazing, the oils are brought to the surface, creating a glossy finish that showcases the natural grain.
